KURN plays an eclectic mix of rock, including punk, alternative, progressive, classic, and metal (but no soft rock, Christian rock, or country rock). Their slogan is “KURN — Rock Now, Rock Always.” The RN in the call sign is generally taken to stand for Rock Now.
The radio station relies heavily on advertising income and show sponsorships from nightclubs, pubs, and alcohol brands. KURN does not target a teen audience and assumes its listeners are of legal drinking age.
